- 1 sheet – Pepperidge Farm puff pastry dough
- Apple pie filling (*I used Dunkan Hines brand – no high fructose corn syrup)
- Cinnamon for dusting
- Turbinado sugar (*you can substitute this with regular sugar)
- 1 egg beaten for the egg wash
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking dish with parchment paper. Roll out the pastry dough. Fold the dough length wise and make about 1/2 inch slits. Add the apple filling. (*You can substitute the apple filling with cherry or any other filling you prefer).
Time to braid. Take one end and bring it to the opposite end and alternate as you go along until you are done. Like this:
You are now ready for the egg wash. Brush the egg wash with a pastry brush all over, make sure to get the sides. Than, sprinkle the sugar over the top and a light dusting of cinnamon. Bake for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Remove and let cool, or serve warm with a scoop of ice cream. Enjoy!
